What is Boswellia?

Boswellia – also known as frankincense – is a species of plants in the balsam tree family (Burseraceae). The plant is characterised by its boswellic acid content and has been used in India, the Orient and China for over a thousand years and is of great importance in Ayurvedic natural history.

What is Pycnogenol®?

Pycnogenol® is a natural plant extract from the bark of the French maritime pine, which grows along the south-west Atlantic coast of France and is also known as a „natural all-rounder“. The original extract contains a natural combination of secondary plant substances with unique properties. Horphag Research has already dedicated 40 years to
proving the efficacy, quality and safety of Pycnogenol®. To date, the natural extract has been tested on more than 10,000 study participants and a total of 160 clinical studies and 420 scientific publications, that speak in favour of the unique properties of Pycnogenol®, have been published.

What is Curcumin?

Kurkuma (Curcuma longa), also known as yellow ginger or also known as turmeric, from the ginger family is native to India and South East Asia. Many people know turmeric from its use in the production of curry powder and as a natural colouring agent. But turmeric has also been used in Indonesia and India (Ayurveda) for several thousand years. The main ingredients are curcumin and curcuminoids, which belong to the secondary plant substances of phenols.

The uniqueness about Curcumin from Dr. Wolz

Not all curcumin is the same. To realise the full benefits of this valuable secondary plant substance, it is necessary to significantly increase its bioavailability. In many products this is achieved by the addition of piperine (from pepper) or micelles („flavourings“). The problem is that all these methods potentially have negative effects on the human metabolism. Dr. Wolz therefore uses cyclodextrin to improve bioavailability, a completely side-effect-free natural substance.

Curcumin in Phytoflam Dr. Wolz®

Over 40 times higher bioavailability! The use of cyclodextrin increases the bioavailability of the curcumin in Phytoflam Dr. Wolz® in comparison to pure curcumin powder or conventional curcumin preparations by a factor of 40. The curcumin molecule is enclosed in a ring of cyclodextrin molecules and thus made soluble in water.

Vitamin C for cell protection and immune system

Physical exertion can cause the development of the so-called free radicals. These are oxygen molecules that move uncontrollably in the body because they are missing an electron. This can damage the healthy cells. Vitamin C has the property of protecting the cells from oxidative stress and can therefore also be described as a „radical scavenger“. As free radicals can also
impair the immune system, vitamin C also supports the normal functioning of the immune systems. The vitamin C in Phytoflam Dr. Wolz® comes from the fruit powder of rose hips and is therefore of natural origin.
