Special feature: Resveratrol
Unlike many conventional vitamin D products, Vitamin D3 4000 I.U. plus contains the phytochemical resveratrol, which is also well known from the Mediterranean diet. As studies show, resveratrol can influence the signal effect of the vitamin D receptors in the organs, which means absorption by the body can improve. Therefore the linkage between resveratrol and vitamin D3 is considered to be particularly effective. Vitamin D3 4000 I.U. plus contains 2 mg resveratrol in each capsule, which equates to a glass of red wine.
Vitamin C from acerola cherries
The vitamin C used by Dr. Wolz is sourced from acerola cherries which are chiefl y native to South America. They are considered to be one of the fruits with the most abundant vitamin C on earth. As vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, it cannot be stored by the body and so has to be sourced each day through food. Like vitamin D, vitamin C also contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.
Flavonoids from citrus fruits
Citrus flavonoids are some of the phytochemicals which protect plants from external environmental impacts. They also serve as natural dyes (e.g. anthocyanins) and also play a key role in human nutrition. The citrus flavonoids contained in Vitamin D3 4000 I.U. plus are mainly obtained from oranges and usefully supplement the vitamin D product.
